According to the report, Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps launched a surprise counteroffensive known as “Operation Vivaldi” after maintaining a strict information blackout. The operation reportedly focused on disrupting Russian drone reconnaissance and enabling Ukrainian forces to shift from static trench defense toward more mobile maneuver warfare.
A central element was a large Ukrainian electronic warfare network that the report claims neutralized or disrupted more than 20,000 Russian drones in mid-air. By reducing Russia’s ability to observe and target Ukrainian movements, the EW shield allegedly created conditions for Ukrainian armored and mechanized units to advance with greater freedom.
The report attributes a major role to Ukraine’s 66th Mechanized Brigade, which reportedly recaptured territory around Serednie and regained as much as 240 square kilometers. Russian forces were said to have withdrawn toward the Nitrius River amid pressure on their defensive positions. The report further claims that strikes against Russian command and logistics infrastructure disrupted fuel and ammunition supplies, forcing some supply activity farther from the frontline, including toward Voronezh.
It also states that Major General Anton Grunis was killed in a Ukrainian drone strike, although such battlefield claims require independent confirmation. More broadly, the report portrays Russia’s northern offensive grouping as suffering serious command, surveillance, and logistical difficulties.
The strategic significance described is Ukraine’s effort to prevent Russia from completing a northern pincer maneuver against the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk defensive area. However, claims about the full scale of territorial gains, drone losses, command disruption, and the collapse of Russia’s encirclement plan should be independently verified before being treated as established facts.
