Houthis Claim Saudi Aramco Attack! Missiles, Drones Target Riyadh And Khurais Sites | Watch

Yemen is facing renewed fighting as Saudi-backed forces reportedly launch an offensive against Houthi positions, with intense clashes around Taiz leaving more than 70 fighters reportedly dead. The escalation marks a significant increase in hostilities in a conflict that has repeatedly threatened to draw neighboring countries and regional powers into direct confrontation.

The Houthis have responded with ballistic missiles and drone attacks aimed at targets inside Saudi Arabia. The group has claimed responsibility for strikes against Saudi energy infrastructure, including facilities operated by Saudi Aramco. Houthi sources also claimed that fires broke out at the Khurais oil complex following the attacks, although such battlefield claims can be difficult to independently verify.

Saudi Arabia has continued conducting airstrikes against areas under Houthi control, with the latest operations reportedly intensifying as fighting on the ground increases. The exchange of attacks highlights the continued vulnerability of Saudi territory and critical energy infrastructure to long-range missile and drone attacks originating from Yemen.

The developments are particularly significant because Saudi Arabia has previously sought to reduce tensions with the Houthis and support diplomatic efforts aimed at ending Yemen’s long-running war. A renewed military escalation could complicate those efforts and increase pressure on regional governments.

The fighting also carries wider implications for Middle Eastern security and global energy markets. Any sustained attacks on major oil facilities could affect production, transportation and market confidence, while further missile and drone exchanges could widen the conflict beyond Yemen’s borders.

For now, the situation remains fluid. Reported casualty figures and damage claims have not all been independently verified, but the combination of ground offensives, airstrikes and attacks on energy infrastructure points to a significant deterioration in regional security.
