Iran Warns of Regional Energy Disruption if U.S. Targets Power Infrastructure

A senior Iranian source told Reuters that Iran has warned the United States against attacking its power plants, cautioning that such action could trigger widespread disruption across the Middle East. The source stated that if Iranian energy infrastructure is targeted, Tehran may respond by striking energy facilities throughout the region, potentially causing large-scale outages.

The warning also included the possibility that Iran-aligned forces, including the Houthis, could move to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a critical route for global trade and energy shipments.

According to reports, these threats were communicated to the administration of Donald Trump through intermediaries in Pakistan and Qatar.

The warning underscores rising tensions and the risk of broader regional escalation impacting global energy supplies.
