Pratt Teases Scandalous Video of Dem Opponents in LA Mayor’s Race

Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has renewed his public battle with city leaders following his defeat in the June mayoral primary, claiming that he possesses audio recordings that could have serious political consequences for either Mayor Karen Bass or City Councilmember Nithya Raman.

In a social media video released Friday, Pratt said he was no longer limited by campaign rules and suggested he would release recordings that allegedly capture one of the two Democratic candidates saying or doing something that would force her to resign. However, he provided no evidence to support the claim and did not identify which official was allegedly recorded.

Pratt stated that he had originally planned to save the information until the general election but now intends to reveal it after voters make their choice. He also warned Bass and Raman to consider whether a staff member may have recorded damaging conversations. In additional remarks, he predicted potential federal investigations and claimed that city officials should fear future scrutiny.

Pratt, a former reality television personality who ran as a right-leaning independent candidate, became one of the most closely watched figures in the race. After losing his home in the 2025 wildfires, he entered politics as an outsider candidate focused on homelessness, crime, public safety, and wildfire recovery.

His campaign relied heavily on social media, podcasts, and viral videos, helping him gain national attention and an endorsement from President Donald Trump. Pratt frequently criticized Mayor Karen Bass, blaming city leadership for wildfire response problems, homelessness, and declining quality of life.

Under Los Angeles’ election system, the top two candidates advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation. Bass secured first place with 34.3% of the vote, while Nithya Raman narrowly captured second place with 29%, defeating Pratt, who received 25.5%.

Although Pratt’s allegations have generated online speculation, no evidence has been publicly released to support his claims, and neither Bass nor Raman has been shown to have engaged in any wrongdoing. The general election will now feature a runoff between the two Democratic candidates.
