After more than four decades in education, Jill Biden has officially retired from teaching, closing a career defined by her enduring commitment to students and learning.
She joined NOVA in 2009 after years of teaching in public high schools and community colleges across Delaware and Virginia.
Throughout her career, she championed community colleges as pathways to opportunity for first-generation students, working adults, and military veterans. Often describing teaching as the “work of my life,” Dr. Biden said her identity has always been rooted in the classroom.
Although she is retiring from formal teaching as Joe Biden prepares to leave office in January 2025, her dedication to education and lifelong advocacy for students have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire educators and learners for years to come.
