Ukraine has carried out a deep strike against the Progress Rocket and Space Center in Russia’s Samara region, one of the key enterprises under state space corporation Roscosmos.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the facility was hit by Flamingo missiles, with the target located approximately 900 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

The facility is involved in rocket technology and electronics production, including the Soyuz rocket program.

Russian authorities confirmed a large-scale missile attack on industrial infrastructure in the Samara region and reported localized damage, while Ukrainian officials confirmed a direct strike on the Progress facility and a fire at the site.

The target is strategically significant because Progress is part of Russia’s aerospace-industrial network and produces systems supporting the country’s rocket and space capabilities. The facility has also been linked to Russia’s developing Rassvet satellite communications network, which Moscow is positioning as a domestic alternative to Starlink.

The strike marks another escalation in Ukraine’s campaign of long-range attacks against Russian military and strategic-industrial infrastructure — demonstrating Kyiv’s ability to reach targets hundreds of kilometers deep inside Russian territory.
